Spirituality of Aging
Presented by Rabbi Elliot Kukla, Bay Area Jewish Healing Center

Aging naturally stimulates spiritual questions and longings such as the need for self worth, reconciliation and forgiveness, hope, awe, coming to terms with suffering and despair. Religious and spiritual practices are a significant way for many people to express these core human concerns. In this session we will learn how to accompany and support older adults as they grapple with these issues. We will also explore how the spirituality of aging can inform us as caregivers as we too age.

Institute on Aging offers monthly scheduled trainings and case studies for professionals. Speakers cover topics ranging from how to communicate with clients suffering from dementia to understaning the role of spirituality when working with aging and disabled clients.
